9 REASONS WHY YOU NEED A TUNE UP
Perform a Comfort Consultation-We’ll discuss comfort issues with you so we can direct you with educational information and possible solutions.
Benchmark Your System – Where are you in the life-expectancy of your system? No one wants to replace a system too early. Do you know the efficiency rating of your A/C?
Check to see if you have proper air flow – Anything that restricts air flow will cause the temperature of the system’s evaporator coil to drop below freezing. Humidity in the air will collect on the coil and cause ice to build up and your system will not be able to cool your home. Dirty air filters, collapsed or obstructed ducts or dirt building up on the evaporator coil. These problems because liquid migration to the compressor, washing oil out of the bearings causing compressor failure.
Check Proper Drainage from the evaporator. An A/C system is a great big “dehumidifier” designed to pull moisture out of the air. Comfort comes from maintaining a low humidity.
Cleaning the Evaporator – The evaporator coil, filter or blower could be dirty. This is the result of not performing routine maintenance on the system.
Clean and remove dirt and dust build up – An important part of an A/C tune up is clearing dirt and debris outside and inside.
Check for potential electrical failure – If a contactor or capacitor is going bad, it increases utility bills. The compressor and fan controls can wear out, especially if the air conditioner turns on and off frequently.
Extend the life of your current system – Most homeowners don’t know that 9 out of 10 systems fail prematurely from improper care.
Save Money – A/C systems with an undercharge of refrigerant can DOUBLE your utility bill. Refrigerant undercharge is hard on your compressor. It needs to be tested and charged correctly
